CMS Northwest (Christian Musician Summit) – Pastor Travis
Recently, a group of ministry leaders from PMCC attended a Christian musicians workshop in Seattle. The Christian Musician Summit is a conference for creative types to improve skill and inspire talent to God’s glory! Workshops for Leaders, Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys, Audio/Visual, Songwriters & assorted Artists… There were lots of exhibits and wonderful times of worship and fellowship with approximately two thousand other attendees. Peter Hendrix, Troy Courville, Ed Rypstra and myself (Travis Stewart) were challenged and inspired by the quality of the information we received. We learned new techniques for more effective ministry, but more importantly, we experienced a renewed sense of vision for our ministry at PMCC. Special thanks to everyone for your support … it was well worth the investment.
CMS Northwest (Christian Musician Summit) – Ed Rypstra
Before I begin sharing what I have personally gained from my experience at the CMS summit. I would like to thank all those in our congregation for their generous and faithful gifts of support, and to Peter Hendrix our worship team leader for suggesting and organising this amazing trip; it truly was a blessing.
I have been volunteering as a sound and audio tech for a little more than 4 years now and it has been quite a journey; from knowing absolutely nothing about sound to a brief 90 minute introduction to doing it full time. Most of what I have learned over the years was by trial and error. On this junket to CMS I can now say that I have finally learned what “Phantom Power” is and how it works and on the lighter side; Dynamic and Condenser Microphones, Polar patterns, Proximity Effect, Impedance, Acoustic Phase Interference and last but not least Feedback.
Aside from all the technical stuff, each session emphasised on how the worship ministry is made up of many different components (personalities) stressing the importance of communication, co-operation, fellowship, patience and respect for one another in this closely-knit team. Personally, I have come away from CMS inspired, re-energised and more confident with the knowledge I have gained. This summit, God willing, is definitely worth continuing. In His service
CMS Northwest (Christian Musician Summit) - Troy CourvilleI want to start by saying how much I appreciated the support our church community gave us for the CMS event, we felt very encouraged by the kindess of your donations. I have not had the opportunity to attend this event in the past but I want to say that as christians we have an amazing group of musical leaders in North America. I was awed and amazed at the talent in our backyard and I felt proud to be a part of it. Taking courses with Paul Baloche and Peter Furler (Newsboys) was overwhelming and left me speechless. Understanding composition of worship music and leadership shed new light on our music ministry at PMCC. Listening, watching and taking courses with Doyle Dykes reignited my passion for guitar and again left me paralyzed with pride. Christian musicians need to feel the passion of Christ in the music they play, and not the need to perform. We all feel encouraged and thankful for the opportunity to experience this first hand and our hope is that you will feel the changes in our worship in your heart and in your soul. Thank you
BAPTISMS

“On September 4th, 2011, we celebrated an amazing baptismal service! Brandon Rypstra, Rayanna Wall and Kim Cole publicly expressed their personal commitment to Jesus Christ through the ordinance of baptism. The theme which emerged from their combined testimony was drawn from Ephesians 3:18 – “And may you have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” The testimony of Christ’s transforming love was clearly evident through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Peter Newman added, “Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a baptismal service every week?”
Please remember to pray for these folks as they continue to grow in their relationship with God.”
