In Romans 8:26 we read: "In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words"

Then, a few verses later, we read in vs. 34: "Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us."

Here we have from Scripture a portrait of what the Holy Spirit and Jesus, the Son of God, are doing and will continue to do in heaven until time is no more.  We should never think that it is us who initiate prayer but rather, we should be asking God to bring us into His prayer life - to experience something of His joy and sorrow; to discover more of His plans and purposes for His Church; and to join Him in interceding for believers and for the lost sheep He is still seeking.

This is why a Concert of Prayer is central to undergirding all we do as a Church.  As your pastors, may we personally invite you to come and participate in this evening when we will be waiting on the Lord in worship and prayer.  Our church, our community, and our world desperately need us to join the armies of God in pushing back the darkness so His Light can shine.

We trust you will join us!

With love and grace,

Pastor Travis and Pastor Larry
